Gift Voucher Terms

1. What a gift voucher is
A GoQuestIRL gift voucher is a code that entitles its holder to book one quest, for a team of up to the player count printed on the voucher, in any city we currently operate. It is not a stored-value gift card and does not have a cash balance — the price you paid buys the entitlement, not a number of credits, so it pays for the booked quest in full regardless of what that quest costs.
A voucher is not tied to a specific city or quest until the holder redeems it at checkout. This is what lets one voucher work across every currency and city in our catalogue.
2. Validity and expiry
A voucher is valid for 365 days (12 months) from the date it is issued. The expiry date is shown on the voucher itself and whenever the code is looked up. [PLACEHOLDER — confirm with legal: whether, and on what terms, an expired but unredeemed voucher can be extended on request. Today there is no self-serve extension; every extension would be a manual support decision.]
The one automatic exception: if a booking made using the voucher is later cancelled — by you or by us — the voucher is restored so it can be used again, and if its original expiry has already passed by the time it is restored, the expiry is pushed out to 30 days from the date of restoration. You are never left holding a voucher that died while a cancelled booking was being sorted out.
3. Refunds on an unredeemed voucher
If your voucher has not been redeemed against a booking, you can cancel it for a full refund within 30 days of the date you purchased it. Email support@goquestirl.com with the voucher code and the email used at purchase; once we've confirmed the voucher is unredeemed and not void, we cancel it and refund the original payment method.
After 30 days, and up to its expiry date, the voucher remains fully valid for redemption but is no longer refundable for cash. This reflects standard practice across gift-experience providers: the voucher itself, not a cash-back guarantee, is what you're holding.
Outside this window, we will still refund a voucher that was bought by mistake and reported promptly (for example a duplicate purchase), one bought fraudulently, or one we can no longer fulfil because we stop operating quests entirely.
Once a voucher has been redeemed against a booking, that booking is governed by our ordinary Cancellation & Refund Policy, not by this page.
4. If a city or quest is discontinued
Because a voucher is not tied to a specific city or quest until it is redeemed, the discontinuation of one city or quest does not affect the voucher's validity — it remains redeemable against any quest we currently operate, up to its player-count limit.
If you have already redeemed your voucher against a booking, and we cancel that specific booking (for example because the quest or departure is withdrawn), your voucher is restored automatically under the terms of Section 2 above, so you can rebook rather than lose the gift.
5. Lost or transferred codes
A voucher code is a bearer instrument: whoever holds a valid, unredeemed code can redeem it, and we do not check that the person redeeming it is the original purchaser or named recipient. Treat your code the way you would treat cash — anyone you share it with can spend it, and we cannot reverse a redemption made with a code that was shared or lost.
If you lose a code, contact support@goquestirl.com with the email address used to purchase or receive it. We can look the voucher up by that email and resend it to the email address already on file. We cannot resend a lost code to a new, unverified email address.
6. Single use, no residual value
A voucher is redeemed in full the first time it is successfully used to complete a booking, regardless of the price of the quest booked. There is no partial redemption, no cash-out of an unused balance, and no residual value left on the code afterwards — whether the quest you booked cost more or less than the voucher's face value makes no difference to what the code is worth.
7. Team size
Each voucher covers a team of up to the player count selected at purchase (1 to 12 players). Because a maximum team size of 8 applies to each individual quest booking, a voucher for more than 8 players may be redeemed across multiple teams in a single booking. If the total participants you try to book exceed the voucher's player count, checkout rejects the booking outright rather than accepting it and charging for the difference: there is no top-up option today. Choose the player count that matches the recipient's group size before gifting it.
8. How this fits with our other policies
These Gift Voucher Terms sit alongside, and do not replace, our general Terms & Conditions and Cancellation & Refund Policy, which continue to apply to the quest booking itself once a voucher has been redeemed.
Gift Voucher FAQ
How long is my gift voucher valid for?
365 days (12 months) from the day it was purchased. The exact date is on the voucher and in the confirmation email.
Can the expiry be extended?
Not automatically today. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm whether we offer extensions on request.] The one case that is automatic: if a booking made with the voucher is cancelled after the original expiry date has passed, the voucher comes back to life with a fresh 30-day window.
Can I get a refund if the voucher is never used?
Yes, within 30 days of purchase, as long as it hasn't been redeemed. Email support@goquestirl.com with the code and we'll cancel it and refund you. After that window it's no longer refundable for cash, but it's still valid to redeem right up to its expiry date.
What happens if the recipient's city or quest is no longer available?
Nothing — the voucher is not tied to a city or quest until it is redeemed, so it can still be used for any quest we currently run. If a specific booking already made with the voucher is cancelled by us, the voucher is automatically restored so it can be used again.
I lost the code — can you send it again?
Yes. Email support@goquestirl.com from the address used to buy or receive the voucher, and we can look it up and resend it to that same address.
Can I give my code to someone other than the original recipient?
Yes — the code itself is what matters, not who is holding it. Whoever redeems a valid code first gets the booking, so share it only with the person you intend to use it.
Does the voucher cover the whole group, or just one person?
It covers a team up to the player count you selected at purchase (1 to 12 players) for one quest, at no extra cost per person within that limit. Because teams are capped at 6, a voucher for more than 6 players may be used across multiple teams.
Our team is bigger than the voucher covers — can we top up the difference?
Not today. Checkout declines a booking whose total participants exceed the voucher's player count rather than charging for the extra players. Choose the right size at purchase, or email us for a custom package.
Is the voucher worth a fixed amount of money?
No. It is an entitlement to one quest, for a team up to its player count, whatever that specific quest costs — not a fixed sum you can spend partially or apply as a discount.
These terms apply alongside our Terms & Conditions and Cancellation & Refund Policy. Questions? Email support@goquestirl.com.
