It's Not Really About the Puzzles

Meeting people as an adult is weirdly hard. Standing in a bar hoping someone talks to you is worse. This is the opposite of that.

You show up, you get put on a team of 2-6, and within minutes you're laughing with people you've just met, doing something a bit silly together, and finding out everyone's story without anybody having to ask “so, what do you do?”

The mission is the excuse. It gives you something to do with your hands, something to laugh about, and a reason to talk to strangers that doesn't feel like networking. What you leave with is three hours of shared jokes and a few people you'd happily see again.

How it works

01

Meet Your Team

Up to six strangers, one team. The awkward bit lasts about ninety seconds.

02

Get Your Briefing

Your phone hands you a story and sets you loose. No guide, no clipboard, nobody talking at you.

03

Explore San Diego

Wander the city together, swapping stories like you've known each other for years.

04

Be a Bit Silly

Take the photo. Do the voice. Everyone's in it together — that's half the fun.

05

Pull It Off Together

Someone will have the idea that cracks it. That feels good when it's yours and better when it isn't.

06

See Where It Goes

The quest ends. Whether the group does is up to you.

Coming Alone Is the Best Version

You don't need to bring anyone. Solo players are matched with other players into a team of 2-6, which is the whole point of a shared departure — a few hours with people you'd never otherwise have met. Bring friends if you'd rather; you'll meet the rest of your team either way.

If nobody else joins by the cutoff, you can choose to play solo, reschedule to a future departure, or receive a full refund according to the applicable event policy.

You're never left without an option.

Better Than Drinks With Strangers

A bar gives you nothing to do but talk, which is exactly why talking is hard there. In San Diego you've got somewhere to be, something to figure out, and a few other people with the same problem.

Nobody has to perform. Nobody has to network. You just end up talking, because you're already doing something together.
